Material-Details: Sterling Silber Datasheet

Our silver items are made from sterling silver. This consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper.
Sterling is the standard material for the jewellery industry and therefore compatible with the skin. Silver has a very good electrical and thermal conductivity.
Printed silver parts are similar to the details of silver parts, which are found in a jewelry store.

By producing in the 3D printing forms it can be realized, but can not be produced with traditional processing methods.
This gives you the opportunity to indulge yourself fully in the design.

Advantages & disadvantages

Advantages
  • Stainless
  • Abrasion resistant
  • Detailed and extremely clean in printing
  • Very good permanent availability
  • High stability
  • Skin-friendly
Disadvantages
  • Not all possible shapes

Material examples

Pendant from gold 3D printing
Skull gold 3D printing
Ring from Gold 3D printing

Price calculation

Silver is calculated in cm³.
An additional handling fee Advantages model is necessary because a lot of manual work is involved in the production.

  • 30 € / cm³
  • 30 € handling fee

Typical usage

Silver is usually used to establish own jewellery such as rings or pendants.

Technology

Silver is manufactured in the so-called "lost wax" process.
While your component is printed by SLA in a special Castingwax and then classic cast.

The procedure:

Your model is decomposed by a program into individual layers of 0.05 mm.
Now a plate lowered into a bath of casting wax.
On this record, a UV laser now starts to "draw the contours and shapes of the parts". At all points in which the laser meets the Resinbad, the material hardens.
Now the build platform lowers to a layer thickness down and a slide provides new material on its surface.
This process is repeated layer by layer to your component until it is ready.
Your component on the insulators rests during the construction process.
These are manually removed after the printing process, and sanded.
Your part is now placed in a form and with a casting substance poured around. After this mass is cured, the printed part is melted off (hence the term 'Lost Wax').
Now the resulting cavity is poured with molten silver. Your part is broken after curing from the mold and the sprue is removed. Then will be further post processing steps such as polishing and grinding.

Silver can be brought in various gloss levels.

The raw option is relatively rough and uneven light. For this reason we offer some post-processing.

Polishing

A smooth reflecting surface is produced by polishing. This, however, is Diffuse, so that the light reflects, you can't see it.

What is to be observed on polished models:

  • The post will take on all surfaces about 0.05 mm material. Plan also something extra wall thickness.
  • Small details can disappear during this process.
  • The polishing service requires 2 extra Working days to the indicated delivery time.
  • Price: Polishing costs 5 € / cm³ extra

Polishing (Premium)

Polish (premium) produces mirror-like surfaces that seamlessly reflect.

What is to be observed on polished models::

  • The post will take on all surfaces about 0.05 mm material. Plan also something extra wall thickness.
  • Small details can disappear during this process.
  • The polishing service requires 2 extra Working days to the indicated delivery time.
  • Price: Polishing (Premium) cost 45 € / cm³ extra
